In 2022, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria made a welcome move to enable increased financial support for viral hepatitis. International organisations and patient groups have called on countries to include viral hepatitis prevention and treatment services in their national proposals to the Global Fund, and also called on funders such as the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to integrate viral hepatitis into their programmes.
