An essential part of this primer is based on the first-hand information shared by women involved in the drugs market in Myanmar. We would like to thank all the women who have shared their views and told us about the difficulties they are facing, and of their hopes and aspirations for the future. For some women it was upsetting and at times painful to share their stories – they are very brave. We hope this primer will prove to be a useful tool to advocate for gender justice, to promote and strengthen women’s rights and to improve the position of women involved in the drugs market and beyond.
